Halsey Burgund Around Town

halseyWe're delighted to report that Halsey Burgund, a participant in several past Boston Cyberarts Festivals, will be opening his sound art exhibit "Scapes" at the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln on July 12; it will be there through November 4.

Then, on July 30, he will be performing his piece "Ocean Voices," a collaboration with California Academy of Sciences marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols.  The performances take place at 1:00pm and again at 6:00pm at the Museum of Science in connection with the Whales exhibit currently on view there.  To get a preview of "Ocean Voices," check out the ABC News video here.

Halsey is a musician and sound artist who lives and works in Bedford. His projects are collaborative and provide participants with an active role in content creation.  We hope you'll check out his work this month!

Digital Dialogues at Fuller Craft

tim tateWe've mentioned before that you should absolutely not miss "The New Materiality: Digital Dialogues at the Boundaries of Contemporary Craft" curated by our friend Fo Wilson and on view at Fuller Craft Museum. But don't just take our word for it:  read the recent review in the Boston Globe ... and then get yourself down to Brockton!

Admission to Fuller Craft Museum is regularly $8, but friends of Boston Cyberarts can receive two-for-one entry to the Museum during the run of The New Materiality - just print out and show this email when you visit.  Fuller Craft Museum is located at 455 Oak Street in Brockton, which is just about 10 minutes outside Route 128. For more information, visit the Fuller Craft Museum website.

marjorie in loopsThere are lots of ways you can get involved. If you're an organization and are considering an art-and-technology-related show for spring of 2011, we'd love to hear from you. If you're a cyberartist but are not connected with a particular organization, we'll see if we can help match you up with one. Click here for more information.

If you're a corporation and would like to talk about becoming a partner for the next Festival, we'd love to hear from you too!  Contact us at  .

If you're not any of the above but are just interested in the world of art and technology, then mark your calendar for spring of 2011
